Ep #39 An LA State of Mind

Lummis House

It took Charles Lummis 12 years to build his arroyo stone house by hand. You can still visit it today. It's worth checking out!

Lummis created the Southwest Museum, LA's first museum, to showcase Native American art and artifacts. The museum is open every Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.

Charles Lummis

KCET has done an extensive series on Lummis and his contribution to the shaping of early Los Angeles.
